Stars were scattered about into emptiness. The room seemed to never end. Aya felt so dizzy as he tried to stand, and pulling at his arms, he was startled to find them tied tightly to the wall behind him. Kicking with his legs he tried to pull himself from the wall but found the pain agonizing. Closing his eyes, he remembered what had happened before he had blacked out. Yohji hanging from the stairs, and Omi pinned violently to the wall... The quiet sound of someone weeping brought Aya back to reality. The tears were not his own, and he looked up, trying to find it’s origin. Raising his gaze, he cried out to see Ken hanging by his wrists from the ceiling. The young man twirled gently as the rope turned, blood spilling down his arms from the deep cuts the ropes had been cutting into him. His body was badly beaten and his gunshot wound had begun to bleed again. Worst of all, a light splashed over him, as if putting him on display as he turned. A display. Just for Aya. “Ken!” Aya cried, pulling at the tight ropes with his arms. He wanted to help the brunette, hold him and make him feel better.... but he couldn’t. Ken looked up, his sobs cut short at the sound of Aya’s voice and he wiggled slightly, searching into the darkness to find Aya. When his eyes finally laid upon his redhead, a small smile crossed his face, and his emerald eyes twinkled. “Oh Ran...” he breathed. So he wasn’t alone. It felt so much better to know he wasn’t alone. Looking down at his battered body, Ken turned his cheek. “Don’t look!” he cried, tears sweeping his cheeks, painfully. “You’re just as beautiful as ever to me.. Ken.” Aya said softly, watching the brunette intently with loving, yet painfilled eyes. “Ran-chan..” Ken said softly. “Arigatou..” he whispered, his eyes returning to meet with Aya’s. Wiggling again to try and keep Aya in his sight, the ropes dug further into his wounds. As a flood of pain washed over him, his usually happy green eyes flooded with agony and he cried out in pain. “KEN!” Aya screamed. He was furious that he had been caught off guard and had been captured. Aya continued to pull, cursing quietly as the ropes cut harshly into Aya’s wrists as he pulled. Finally giving up, he slumped to the ground on his knees, his arms still tied tightly to the rope bound above him. “Don’t pull at it!” Ken yelped. “They get tighter.. if you pull... I’ve tried..” he whispered. “It hurts so much, Ran-chan... What did we do? Why do they want to hurt us so much? Why Ran?” Aya looked up at the mention of ‘they’. His glare darkened instantly, and he stared at the brunette intently. “Ken, do you know who has done this? Ken, do you?” Ken nodded, swallowing a sob, and whimpering slightly. “It was.. it was...” “Us.” Two familiar voices cut in, a unison of voices calling out that made Ken tremble wildly. From the shadows, two small figures stepped into Aya’s sight, making the redhead yank at the ropes again, furious and wanting so badly to tear his opponents to shreds. It was Nagi Naoe. And Tot. “Schrient.. Schwarz... impossible..” Aya hissed, furious. “You’re dead! Weiss murdered you..” he spat, yanking at the ropes again. As a forest of crimson bangs fell into his eyes, he jumped again to hear Tot’s umbrella connect with Ken’s bare back, and the brunette scream in pain. “Oh Ken!” he cried out. The whimpers of the brunette hurt Aya more than any inflicted pain, and right now, all Aya felt was agony. “No, you murdered Shen.. and Hell.. Neu..” Tot said curtly, enjoying the sight of blood spreading over the sharp tip of her umbrella. “Schulderich.. Crawford.. Farfarello...” Nagi added. “You killed our families... *happy* families...” Ken looked up, and spat on the ground, his eyebrows narrowing. “You weren’t families, you were vicious assassins. They deserved to die.” he spat, and immediately regretted what he said when Nagi narrowed his azure eyes, and turned his gaze to Aya. “No, NO!” Ken screamed. As a blast of Ki made its imprint against Aya, Ken lowered his head, muffling his own screams as he tried to look away from Aya’s bloody figure. Yet Ken couldn’t take his eyes away, because it was Aya, his Aya... his beloved. Spitting the blood from his lips, Aya looked down angrily. He refused to cry. “Asshole.” he spat. “No. They didn’t deserve to die.” Nagi hissed. “You killed a happy family.. So we are killing yours.” Nagi fired another ki blast, and Aya closed his eyes, anticipating the impact. Suddenly burning white flooded over him, and he felt his chest nearly explode as he was slammed into the wall. He winced at the sound of cracking bones, and his chest felt like it was piercing him. “RAN!” Ken screamed, tears streaking his cheeks as he pulled with all his might at the ropes. As the umbrella connected with his back again, he bit his lip, ignoring the pain as he muffled his sobs. Aya screamed as the pressure increased, and his arms spasmed as he was pressed further into the wall. Just as quickly as it started, it stopped and he breathed hard, blood dripping from his chest and arms. Broken bones pushed themselves against the ripped flesh, and Aya arched his back to save himself from the pain in his chest. “No.” Aya whispered, his breathing having run so raggedly it was amazing he could speak. “You’ve killed Yohji.. and Omi.. you have your revenge.. let Ken go.” Tot laughed, and reached up, grabbing Ken by a fist of soft brown hair, yanking his head back. “Oh no! He is the star of our show..” she laughed, snapping her ice eyes to Aya. “Our show. Just for you.” Without a second glance, she yanked Ken’s head back harshly, arching his back directly onto the spike of her umbrella. Ken screamed, blood splurging past his lips as the spike was removed from the small of his back and tapped to the floor. “LEAVE HIM ALONE!” Aya screamed, yanking again at the ropes, and as he rocked his body a little, the redhead felt a slight lag in the ropes. He had begun to bleed so badly that they’d begun to slip looser around his wrists. Which meant.... Ken screamed again as his back was impaled onto the spike once more. He bent forward, blood pouring past his small lips, tears mixing with the blood to create a sweet combination of pain. Turning his gaze to the darkness, he heard Aya’s last cry before the redhead went silent. Lowering his eyes, he began to weep again violently as the spike was turned, pain shooting through his body again. “Aya..help me.. please Ran...” he whispered. Nagi cried out suddenly, and Ken’s eyes shot up to see a startled Tot step backward, dropping her umbrella to the ground beside her. Aya stood behind Nagi, his katana sank deep into Nagi’s flesh. Nagi smirked, his hands clutching the katana as he struggled to breathe. “I only lived for death.. and now I can’t even protect her. Living was pointless anyway.” he whispered. “Die. In agony. As did my family.” Aya hissed, and turned the katana, splitting Nagi’s insides. The mahogany haired boy choked on his blood, as the katana slashed through him, and his body fell limply to the ground. Tot screamed for Nagi, and grabbed her umbrella off the ground in a mad scramble, trembling, “Nagi! Nagi!” she cried, backing up slowly. Narrowing his eyes, Aya took a step forward, around Nagi’s remains, before lunging at the tiny girl. The sound of metal clashing rose high into the air as Tot’s umbrella was brought down to stop Aya’s blow. Catching her off guard, he kicked forward, hitting her hard in her stomach, sending her tumbling to the floor. Ken watched, smiling softly as the umbrella was kicked away. Aya walked forward, and towered above her, glaring menacingly. She had no weapon. “AYA, KILL HER!” Ken screamed, yanking at the ropes. He wiggled his body, ignoring her pain so he could watch his lover destroy that that ruined their family. Their memories. Their happiness. “Shi ne.” Aya hissed, stabbed Tot, watching his katana slash smoothly through her chest like a rock cutting water. Aya turned and sighed deeply as he walked to Ken. Reaching up, he gently cut the ropes, and slid the battered Siberian into his arms. He nuzzled the side of Ken’s face softly, as the brunette threw his arms around Aya, ignoring the pain, and laughing softly as he clung to Aya. “Oh Ran, Ran, we made it.. we..” A choked cry interrupted Ken as Aya’s legs weakened and he slipped to one knee, still holding the trembling Siberian. Blood slipped past his lips, and Ken cried in horror to see a familiar blue spike shoved harshly into Aya’s back. “Sou na..” Ken whispered, as the Tot raised herself, trembling on weak legs as she pushed the umbrella’s spike further into Aya’s back. The redhead cried out, his arms weakening and Ken slipped from his arms. Struggling to stand, he squeezed his fists, feeling his bugnuk slide from hiding. Childish laughter rose from the girl as she pulled the umbrella out of Aya’s back, and watched triumphantly as Aya fell, too stunned to respond. The pain was so much, it hurt so bad. He tried to reach for his katana, but everything was so fuzzy, and the blood, oh the blood.. A scream cut off Tot as fresh blood splashed over Aya’s face. Turning, he saw Tot fall, and Ken slash the blue-haired girl once more before shaking the blood from the claws. “Ken..” he whispered, as the brunette fell to his knees, trembling. The Siberian crawled over to Aya, pulling the redhead into his arms, kissing his forehead and his cheeks. “Shh, Ran. We made it. They’re dead.. no one is going to hurt you anymore.. no one is going to hurt either of us.. We’ll go to Shibuya-ku for a while.. we’ll be safe there, Ran... just you and me.. forever.. ne?” Aya nodded, hugging the brunette as he pulled himself to his feet, and the two walked to the exit. “We’ll be together. Death will keep us together.” Glancing back at the bloodied floor, he closed his eyes, wiping his bloodied lip. “Forever.” Turning back, he took Ken’s hand, and the two slipped through the small doorway, back into the light.
