Now You Must Repent

I'm lost....

"Ran... Ran, okite yo, Ran!" Ken cried, shaking the redhead from his seemingly eternal sleep. Fujimiya had been asleep for nearly thirty minutes, Yohji returned, and Omi had locked Aren into the apartment, and cleaned her up, changing her clothes, and repairing her wound. The misunderstanding had been adjusted, yet everytime Ken looked at Aren, he glared. She was the one who did this to him, she was the one who put him in this state....

Yohji stood towering over Ken, who laid on the bed with Aya. "Whatever happened to him, he seems to have gone into shock..." Yohji said quietly. Turning to Aren, he gazed at her with accusing emerald eyes. "This is the first time you've returned to him, isn't it? You don't know how many countless nights he cried, do you." He hissed, turning back to Aya.

Omi tugged gently on Aren's sleeve, pulling her aside. "Aren-san, did Aya tell you he tried to commit suicide twice after you left?" he whispered. Nodding, the azure eyed boy folded his arms. "One night, we left him alone, and he took his katana and slit his wrists. Laid there too, watching himself bleed. Luckily Ken came home early to find him, or he would have died. Second time he got ahold of Yohji's wire... He's okay now, so we trust him being alone.. demo, for him to have these reactions, it seems he must not have been as okay as we thought...."

Ken, help me... Find me, Ken...

Sputtering, Aya sat upright, clinging to the brunette, like a small child. "Ran!" Ken squealed, hugging Aya tightly, who'd begun to cry again. Yohji sighed with relief, and Omi turned away from Aren to smile happily. "Okaeri, Aya!" He cried happily.

She's gone.

Aya looked around wildly, amethyst eyes scanning the room. "Aren? Aren, doko? Doko?" he cried frantically, searing the room. And then a splice of red in the doorway gave a hint that the woman was still there. Sighing deeply, he smiled at the sight of her, and his eyes softened, before drifting shut again, and hugging Ken around the waist, he passed out in the smaller man's lap once more.

"RAN!" Ken screamed. The brunette began to cry. "Nani? What's wrong with him, Yohji?!" He shouted, shaking Aya. "Ran, Ran, wake up!" the Siberian sobbed, tears splashing down his cheeks and dampening the redhead below him.

"Ken, calm down, Aya's been through alot, he'll be okay.. he's too strong...." Yohji said quietly.

"Iie!" Ken shouted. "He's going to try and kill himself again, Yohji! It's all her fault!" he screamed, pointing an accusing finger at Aren.

Omi and Yohji stepped back startled, matching azure and emerald eyes widening with surprise. "Ken..." Omi frowned. "Aren's not like that! Calm down, Ken-kun! Aya will wake up, and be just fine, you'll see...."

When you see me.. I'll be with the clouds...

Ken's sobs continued to fill their small bedroom. Omi turned back to Aren, noticing the horrified look on her face. "Aren-san...?"

"Aren-san, did Aya tell you he tried to commit suicide twice after you left?"

"Did he tell you..?"

"Did he?"

---

Why?

"Aren-san, did Aya tell you he tried to commit suicide twice after you left?"

"Did he tell you..?"

"Did he?"

Why Aya? Why end your life, when I left to save it. What would have been the purpose? I thought I'd be the end of your problems. And to think I would have been the end of you. I would have joined you, Aya. I would have blissfully followed you to the other realms iitoshi. NO matter who needed me at the time, I would have left, to be with you.

She stared, dazed and swaying. Rejuvenated at being dry and clean. Her blood pumped through her veins fueling the devastating machine that she was.

" I still..love him.." she muttered softly. Aren knew it when she saw him open the door, she did.

She watched Ken as he cradled Aya. How she wanted to snatch him out of the little Siberian's hands. He didn't know...didn't know Aya like she did. Jealousy had sprung! He dared point a finger at her as if she wanted to hurt him!

She hissed, hunching over slightly. Omi turned to her frightened and concerned. "Aren-san?" Aren didn't hear him, she was looming on the killing edge. She died to keep him safe, she stayed away so he could be normal, and that Ken had the audacity to blame his condition on her!

" Aren-san kudasai! " Omi stared at her with wide eyes, he held her hand which had tightened tightly into a fist, her delicate form may have snapped from the tension. She turned to Yohji, those dark jades glittered ferally as she spoke to him, barely containing her fury. Her respect and concern for Omi, Aren held back.

"You think I don't know what he went through...?" she hissed. The intensity of her fury was felt in the sudden iciness of the room. " I died so that you ALL wouldn't have to go through that again, and against MY better judgement, I stayed away, in hopes the bloody nightmare would be washed away, that he might forget me and lead a NORMAL LIFE ! "

Aren kept reminding herself over and over about tiny Omi's hand trying to soothe her. "Don't you dare stand there and accuse me..I know of my wrongs, I too have suffered..NOT THAT YOU CARE!? I don't have to answer to you, Yohji! " she spat. " Not to you, Not to Ken, not to Omi! I have to answer to Aya, and that is who I will answer to..." she hissed and gently removed her hand from Omi's.

She left the bedroom, seething and enraged. It took alot of will to not blow up. For Aya's sake..for the sake that she may repair the damage she's done..she stayed.

And she waited..

"Did he tell you..?"

"Did he?"

"Why, Aya? "

Yohji watched Aren storm away, and Ken looked up in abrupt silence as the tall brunette grabbed her wrist, wrenching her back into the room. "Aya tried to die because you left him, because he couldn't lead a normal life, without you, you bitch. We ALL died the day we joined Weiss. We no longer can lead normal lives, because we are ASSASSINS, and the day we no longer are assassins, is the day we die. Aya tried to escape it. He tried to escape it to be with you. And this is how you repay him. How you repay Ken. For all the kindness we've given you." Yohji spat.

Omi held his arm out, touching Yohji's elbow gently. "Yohji-kun, iie yo, it's not right.."

The brunette glared at Omi, and back at Aren, ignoring the youngest. "We all have suffered. Ken has suffered the most! He's been with Aya every night when Aya cried, he was the one in the hospital who saw Aya get his wrists mended, he nearly watched the person he loved die.." Yohji hissed. "I hope you fucking die."

Ken looked up, angrily. "Yohji-kun! Take that back!"

Yohji glared angrily, letting go of her wrist. "Never." he said, folding his arms.

She looked at Yohji and bared her teeth in a feral hiss.." Kutabare! " that wrist snatched out of his grasp smacking him firmly across his face. " You may get your wish..." she snarled that odd feral light in her eyes.

She looked to Ken cuddling Aya. Another faint sigh and she finally left..to ponder the happenings. To Ponder her options, and the past..and her present future.

Ken watched as Aren retreated from the room once more. "Why, Aya...?"

Aya stirred in his sleep, then sitting up dazed in Ken's lap, he looked around quietly. "Aren.. Aren, is she still.....?"

Ken pressed his lips against Aya's. "Shh, itoshii. She's in the other room.. Yohji scared her a bit, but she's okay...." Jealousy sprung through his body. Just like Aren, the little Siberian didn't want Aya anywhere near the other. He'd fight for his man, if it killed him.

Aya looked over at Omi. "What have I missed..?"

Omi knelt down beside Aya. "I told her you nearly committed suicide, twice.." His azure eyes softened as he patted Aya's hand quietly. "She was shocked, Aya.."

Aya's eyes widened slightly, and he covered his mouth. Ken rubbed his shoulder comfortingly. "Naze? Why did you tell her?"

Omi shook his head. "She needed to know.. she still loves you, Aya..."

Ken's eyes closed, and his hands dropped away from Aya to clutch the sheets tightly. "IIE!" Ken shouted. "Aya's mine! I worked so hard, so hard to help him! I love Aya, no!" he cried, fresh tears spotting his cheeks.

Aya and Omi stared at Ken, and Yohji looked at the poor brunette, shaking his head. The redhead kissed Ken's cheeks softly, the lingering kiss that pulled the tears from Ken's eyes, and the brunette sighed, wiping his eyes as Aya stood up, rubbing his chest quietly. "Don't cry. I love you too." he whispered.

"Why, Aya..?"

The redhead looked at the door with a determined face, and squeezing Omi's shoulder, he shuffled over to the door. "Give me time." he said softly, and walked out the door.

The redhead walked out the door, looking back and forth in the darkness. "Aren, doko..?" he whispered, quietly. A harsh pain in his chest began to irritate him, as he breathed a little harder than usual, still looking for her.

Why did I hear your words...

Why did I hear you when I was sleeping...

Don't leave me again, Aren... I nearly died for you..

"Doko?" he whispered, pausing to lean against a doorway. He breathed heavily for a minute, sliding his amethyst eyes shut.

"Doko?"

---

Aren heard their rambling. She paced in the darkness, running her hands through those two-toned ringlets.  " I shouldn't have come..." she repeated over and over as she paced circles in the dark room.

" Iie yo...it was a mistake. " She stopped, in the middle of the dark room. " Mhmm..a mistake. " she laughed softly, a muted whine. " Why does it always have to be like this...? " she sniffled softly.

The redhead walked out the door, looking back and forth in the darkness. "Aren, doko..?" he whispered, quietly. A harsh pain in his chest began to irritate him, as he breathed a little harder than usual, still looking for her.

" Aya ? " she turned to the voice.

"Doko?" he whispered, pausing to lean against a doorway. He breathed heavily for a minute, sliding his amethyst eyes shut.

" Aya..I'm here...! " she said with a hint of desperation. Those silver ringlets, glowed slightly. " I'm here, Aya.." she was near him with her hand on his shoulder. " I think I should leave now. "

" I came here to talk with you..." she smiled but it just didn't reach her eyes. " I suppose..it could have all been a mistake..But I know I goofed up...I can only hope that in time..you'll fully forgive me..then after you..I can be strong enough to seek forgiveness from the others..." rubbing his shoulder lightly as she spoke.

" I think I put you through enough..I'll be going now. " she brushed past him. Not even to stop and bother the others with a look, she was seething mad. And she headed toward the door..

She was regretting, and she was sorry. Genuinely so of course, but with the pain she'd caused. Doubling the pain on herself..she hoped to get through the rest of the week, let alone..the rest of the night.

The redhead smiled softly when the warm hand brushed his shoulder. He leaned into the soft touch, trying to lean against her for support as he struggled to breathe. "Talk with me..? I'm.. sorry, for getting angry..."  Yet he paused, as that warm hand was taken away from his shoulder, and as she walked away, he fell to one knee, clutching his chest.

NO! Don't go!

A feeling of hate spread through him as she brushed past him. Brushed past him as if nothing happened. As if that year of passion and happiness had never existed. He stood back up slowly, turning, and trying to rush after her, yet Aya, dear heart, was slowed and he stopped, leaning against the wall. Too much stress, too much pressure, too much... "So that's it? You are just leaving now?"

He watched as she continued walking to the door. Angry. He knew that walk. He knew that attitude, and that angry glow. Was she angry at him?

Don't go please.

The others sat quietly in the room talking. "Do you think she'll steal him away? Oh Ken, you need to protect Aya! Shouldn't you go check on him?" the whispers came.

All the agony I've suffered, everything I've suffered, in hopes you'd come back...

"NO!" Ken cried, covering his ears. "NO! Aya's mine, Aya's mine, Aya's... "

"Aren, don't you DARE walk out on me again!!" The redhead shouted, turning back to the door as he stood. Angry amethyst eyes turned into neat Japanese slits, trembling hands slowly turned into clenched fists as the final proclamation was to be announced. "Don't you leave. I love you, dammit. Don't you leave me again." he said quietly.

The doe eyes of the brunette widened as he heard the last hushed sentence. A silence fell over the three as Ken stood, trembling. "So that's it.. Aya is... Aya is..." Ken whispered, tears streaming his cheeks.

Hers.
