Welcome to the Great
Room of The Bard's Inn. Within these walls, you
will find information about your host; probably more than you wanted to know (but hey it
is my site), as well as portals to the other rooms of the "Inn." I
will touch on only some of my interest's, for to list them all would bore you to tears, so
I won't! Sufficed to say that my interests are many and cover a wide range of
topics and altitudes; for instance I still want to learn how to fly, skydive, hot air
balloon, and hand-glide. I did realize one of my dreams and became a certified open
water scuba diver while living in Hawaii back in the early 90s. I have put together four pages that will give you greater insight on
who I am and what it is I stand for; please click About Me where you will find a
list of my Hobbies and Interests, and collection of my favorite photos!
First
and foremost, you must know that the Ocean is my first love; I spent my teenaged years
growing up in Newport, RI where my father retired from the Navy in 1975. I used to
ride my bike out to the ocean almost every weekend and sit for hours watching the rolling
white capsthe sunlight reflecting off themswim in to kiss the shoreline. I was
mesmerized. It helped define the person I am today, I think. One of the
reasons I joined the Navy right out of high school was to be near her (the ocean) always,
and for 15 years with few exceptions I was near, on top of, below, or above one the worlds
oceans or seas. Being in Chicagoland now, I am very restless and long to move back
to New England and once more near the my beloved, never to leave her shores again.
I
am nothing by trade I guess; what I did in the Navy, I can not talk about until I die
(seriously I had to sign a document stating that I can not divulge the nature of my work
in the Navy for 77 years from the date I was discharged and that was 1994)! And I
never have graduated from college, a fact many people can't believe when I tell them.
I do have two years under my belt from the University of Maryland, Cities Collages
of Chicago, and Hawaii Pacific University. I have been accepted as a degree-seeking
student at DePaul University as a part of the School for New Learning adult
program. I hope to complete my Liberal Arts Degree by the end of the Year 2000.
Right now I make my living as a Computer Consultant. I started teaching myself the ins and
outs of computers back in 1985 when the industry was still relatively new. Now I
make a fairly decent living in an industry that is expanding by leaps and bounds; in the
last three years I have worked for no less than four different
company's.
I
have a lot of strong opinions on a lot of different subjects, which is one of the reasons
I wanted to create and maintain this site; as a sounding board for intelligent discourse
on some of the vexing problem facing America today. Far to often we American shy away from
discussions on the really tough subject amongst ourselves, and I have often thought this a
problem; for how else will solve them be through frank, honestand yes, sometimes
painful dialog? Racism, teen violence, domestic violence, school prayer, corrupt
politicians, book banning, sub-standard inner-city primary education, etc. will not go
away just because we want them to, or never mention them in mixed company. I hope you will
feel free to add to our discussions (when that room is ready), in an honest, open
intelligent manner; who know we might just affect a change! You will find my guest book at
the bottom of this page as well as the About Me, Poets' Enclave, and the Reading
Room, as well as on every GeoGuide at the bottom of each page on the site.
Please feel free to sign it; I would love to know what you thik about my humble
site. Back to Top
