The Urban Hymns Recording Sessions began October
13, 1996 and ended August 4, 1997. Soon after the Verve's first break
up, Richard, Simon, and Peter decided to continue working together.
They eventually recruited guitarist Simon Tong, and in early 1997, Richard invited Nick to join the group. In the time they were away the band grew in stature, becoming a substantial influence who was consequently used as a reference point by journalists and other bands such as Oasis. The sessions took place at Olympic Studios in London, England. |
