Grand Bahama
Island is ideal for snorkeling, with distinctive coral and reef formations around the
island and clear, blue water that is generally shallow. A number of half-day guided reef
tours are available to some of the best spots, such as Paradise Cove, in Deadman's Reef, one of
the few places on the island where you can actually reef snorkel right off the beach.
If you
plan to snorkel off the beach,
having your own equipment is a big plus: many of the best snorkeling areas
on the island are isolated, far from places where you can rent gear.
