Windsure Windsurfing School is the only windsurfing rental service in Vancouver. It's in the sailing centre area and just a few steps away from the beach. You can rent the whole set of equipment, including wetsuit and life jacket, right on the beach.

For beginner, take a lesson is essential and will make the learning process much faster. Check the lesson hours. Don't expect to walk in and take a lesson anytime. 

For me, learning windsurfing is much harder than snowboarding. The main reason is that you cannot stop after falling on the water. You have to struggle to get up. But after you improve your skill, you will hardly fall and you rest while windsurfing.
