The Stancliff Academy is a non-profit private school established in 1920 when the death of John Henry Marshall, the 4th Duke of Stancliff and father to Nick Marshall, forced the division of his property between all his children. The Victoria Marshalls used some of the funds to establish the Stancliff Academy. The student population covers all grades and includes both boarding and day students. Admission is based mainly on academic skill, but other factors are taken into consideration, though Marshall family children are guaranteed admission if desired. There are adequate funds to provide many scholarships to needy students.

The campus is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and includes many modern amenities in an otherwise heritage setting.
