Country Link is an informal, social organisation for people who have an interest in the countryside, and related activities. Originally formed for people who were too old to belong to Young Farmers clubs it specifically caters for people over 26 years old and there is no upper age limit. Many of the members come from farming backgrounds but there are also many members from non-farming backgrounds and who earn their living from a wide range of other occupations and professions. Our membership includes teachers, accountants, and secretaries as well as farmers and other people from many different professions.
This is a national organisation with one group in most counties in England, with some groups in Scotland and Wales too. Each county based group organises their own programme of social events according to their members particular interests and what they have available in their local area. Meetings are varied and can include walking, cycling, theatre visits, pub nights, games nights, treasure hunts, and eating out. More unusual outings have included making your own Pork Pie and making your own Bakewell Pudding.
