Posting Tips for Swaps

• Use jiffy bags/bubble envelopes

  To keep postage costs down use bubble envelopes. Boxes can add more than you think to the weight.

  From the past central point swaps I have received, average cost of postage from US to UK has been $2 for bubble envelopes and $6 for boxes.

• Protect your items

  Most small items will be fine wrapped with some bubble wrap. If not you can put them inside film cannisters, pill tubs or little plastic food containers, like those pictured below.

• Address/Customs

  PRINT the package clearly with both my address and your address. Make sure you have attached a customs declaration. This will ensure swift delivery through customs.

  Watch what value you are declaring or customs charges may be added. In the UK items receivd as gifts, from countries outside Europe, with a declared value over £36 (approx. $70) should be charged by customs. Other countries will have different values - if in doubt check with the swap recipient.
