  What to do and see

Tywyn is without a doubt a wonderful place to relax. The promenade and the town are all on one level, so an evening stroll isn't a substitute for mountaineering. The pace of life is slow, and the stresses of 20th century living don't intrude.

Hundreds of visitors return year after year, and are made so welcome that many choose to retire here, knowing they are already a part of the local community. Until then it is a real home from home

Imagine relaxing in the sunshine listening to the waves breaking on the shore

Imagine walking hand in hand along the beach bathing in the warm glow of a truly golden sunset

Tywyn can be a place of excitement for those of a more adventurous nature. With the sea on one side and mountains on the other there is scope for almost any activity you can think of.

Many visitors to Tywyn are drawn by the potential for magnificent walks. These can be leisurely rambles through the beautiful countryside through to vigorous hill walks with breathtaking views.

Cardigan Bay is clear, blue water, and plays host to a great number of water activities. There is some of the best fishing in the UK, good surf and safe boat launching facilities. Fun for all the family.

Inland there is excellent game fishing available in idyllic surroundings. Salmon, trout and sea-trout can be caught

The History of Tywyn goes further back than the last millennium. The historic nature of the area creates an atmosphere where Myth and Magic prevail

In more recent times Tywyn was the point at which slate transported down from Abergynolwyn by the Talylyn Railway was transferred. There was also much development in late Victorian times, when Salt King, John Corbett did work to develop Tywyn as a seaside resort. His legacy does much to make Tywyn and ideal holiday destination

Evening Entertainment: Shows, concerts and dances are held at Neuadd Pendre, The Leisure Centre and the Community Hall. Tywyn and Abergynolwyn both have Silver Bands which hold regular concerts.
