ABOUT YOUR HOST

Total number of days in a year think about skiing:
How many days does a year have?

365

Total number of days on snow since life:
Before 1994, total 10 times; From 1994 to 1996, 12 times each year, 1997, 15 times, 1998, 24 times, 1999, 35 times; 2000, 38 times; 2001, 41 times; 2002, 50 times.

These numbers are just approximate. Adding all of them together, I skied 249 times in my life. Whistler opens 200 days a season. Blackcomb open for summer skiing too. Comparing to a regular Whistler skier, I only skied a season, not even a year.

249

Total number of runs had been on Whistler and Blackcomb:
Whistler and Blackcomb have 201 named runs. There are still 14 runs that I have never been to after six years skiing on the two mountains. All of the runs are black and double black runs. They remains as big challenge.

187

Average number of days on snow in the last three seasons:
2000, 38 times; 2001, 41 times; 2002, 50 times.

43

The largest number of people skied with at one time:
It's fun to ski with a large group of people at one time. It's not practical to ski for the whole day because you have to stop a lot to wait for people in order to avoid people get lost. Do it for the first couple of runs and the last runs are good. I hope to ski with over 100 people at one time. I need you.

30

The largest number of lessons took in one season:
In the season of 2001/02, I had 17 ski lessons and 3 days at Atomic Dave Murray Camp.

20

Total numbers of mountains have skied:
In Ontario, I skied Blue Mountain and another small hill few times. It’s a two-hour drive north of Toronto. I also skied a small hill in Quebec a long time ago when I was in University, but I can't remember the name now.

In Alberta, I skied a couple of small local ski hills in Edmonton and Jasper, a fairly big mountain. In Banff area, I skied Lake Louise and Sunshine each more than a dozen times, Norquay, a smaller hill in Banff, a few times. Further from Banff, I skied Panorama once.

In Vancouver, I have skied all three local mountains, Cypress, Grouse, and Seymour. And of course, you should have known it, I skied at Whistler most weekends in the past few seasons. I have been gone to Mount Baker in the U.S. twice.

15

Total number of skis had since skiing:
My first pair of skis lasted about six years. Then I started buying at least one pair of skis each season.

11

Total number of years of skiing since as a beginner:
I started skiing more than 10 years ago. Actually, I can’t remember when I started. In the first many years, I skied once or twice a year. I don’t know if I can call it skiing. The years really don't count.

10

Total number of skis had at one time:
It's the love of skis. I can't help.

7

Total number of seasons skied at Whistler Blackcomb:
I used to ski lots at Blackcomb, but now I ski most of times at Whistler.

6

Total number of ski boots ever had:
This is not love of boots. It's a learning process. Forget about getting your first pair of ski boots right. It can never get right. Your best luck is getting the second pair right. If you are still on your first pair of boots after couple of years, you are in big trouble.

4

Total number of skis have now:
I love to have more skis. Every ski performs differently. But I can't use them all. Only three pairs left. By the way, many people I ski with have three pairs of skis.

3

Total number of seasons had Whistler season pass:
I calculated every season and tried to find reason not buying a season pass. But I ended up with buying.

3

Total number of snowboards ever had:
I like snowboarding too. But most people I know are skier. And the love of skiing won't share the time for snowboarding. It's a big problem.

1

The smallest number of people skied with at one time:
Of course, as a lonely skier, I skied many times by myself. You may have heard that it's not recommended. Because if you had got hurt, or got lost, no one can help you, especially when you venture into some tough terrain.

But life doesn't always give you the choice and ski partner. When I had desire to ski, it doesn't matter if there is someone to ski with me or not. I have to go. On the other hand, I hope you can join me as often as you can.

Total number of times can't get up to go skiing:
Do I have to explain? Skiing is always better than sleeping.
