Halo Combat Evolved (Halo) review

By Matt Gee

Halo Combat Evolved is a first-person shooter videogame which takes place on a fictional planet known as Halo. It was released on X-Box on November 15th, 2001. Then, on September 30th, 2003 it came out for Windows (PC) and on December 3rd, 2003 it came out for the Mac.

Before the actual games story begins we the people playing it learn how the Covenant (a group of alien species committed to the destruction of the human race) launch an attack on one of the human's military production places named Reach, and they destroy it.

We follow in this classic fantasy adventure how Master Chief (John) or also (Spartan #117) along with Cortana (an AI) artificial intelligence along with tons of marines are inside the Pillar of Autumn, then the Covenant board their vehicle and they crash land on the planet Halo. Then the remaining marines, Master Chief and Cortana fight their way through tons of Covenant enemies and at the end of the game we see how Master Chief found the Pillar of Autumn at the end of the game, destroyed it (Pillar of Autumn), Halo, and got away in the nick of time with no humans on his ship that he knew of, and with no more Covenant threat on the planet.

Truly, I thought it was interesting how Bungie made this game, because I really like how they combined all of the storyboards into great levels, sub-levels, and tons of other interesting things. Also, I was surprised at how great the graphics were, because it was the first game in the series and I thought it was really great how Bungie worked with Microsoft and Gearbox and made such a good product for the world today.

This game is rated M for mature and frankly I think it should be rated T for teen instead because of the part that I don't really think this game is that graphic. If your mom allows you to get this game, if she doesn't mind you playing an M rated game, and you have played other action games like Gears of War or Call of Duty, and your mom had no problem with you getting and playing them; then I would reccomend getting this game.

Finally, I thought this game is one of the best fantasy/action games that was ever made. In conclusion, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this game an 8.5. I hope that you enjoyed my review on this popular game, and have a nice day.
