Varieties

Gamza

( Kadarka )

Gamza    It is an old local variety  , which is cultivated mainly in hot micro areas of North Bulgaria along the river Danube.

Often used synonym of Gamza is Kadarka. Wine with that name was exported  at high quantities and  variable qualities at the time of the  so-called Communism in Bulgaria , mainly to German. The real wine made from Gamza is   purer , exotic and with own character .  As quality it is better than Pamid ( the other Bulgarian local variety) and little give in to Cabernet Sauvignon , even though many consumers prefer Gamza for different reasons.

The areas , planted with that variety in Bulgaria are quite a lot,  but they have quickly decreased , because of general penchant for the more-fashion French varieties and the more difficult cultivating of Gamza . That trend converts  Gamza Wine to increasingly rare product. At the same time the exceptional resinous taste and the typical Gamza flavor have made  consuming of that wine an    unforgettable gustatory experience . This is  strong wine  - usually above 14% alc. by volume , but at the same time it is comparatively deficient in tannins   , and is proper to consume at any time.

As an author of this project I am fond of that wine!

Pamid

pamidPamid is very ancient wine variety , which had been cultivated it the our pace since ancient Traces . Until philoxera's  invasion at the end of XIX and the head of XX century , that variety had been wide - spread in some regions in Bulgaria as main wine variety , because of its unpretending to soil and climatic conditions and high yields. Today the areas planted with Pamid are increasingly small , and it is replacing from French wine varieties Cabernet sauvignon and Merlot .  That converts the variety and the wine from Pamid to big rarity .

The yields are high - approximately 8000 - 10000 kg. per hectare , in a good   quality of grapes .  Pamid is frost-resisting and unpretentious to environment.

The wine from Pamid is light , palatable and matures quickly . The wine is ready for use as early as the November in the same year , and you can consume it while you wait the rough and young noble wines as Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot matured.

In conclusion , if you have vineyard from Pamid , you will have a light , suitable for drink at every time wine , in high quantity in comparison with other wine varieties . It is a rare and unique product in the world-wide scale.

Pinot Noir x Mavrud

( Bouquet)

MavrudThe grapes wine variety Bouquet is brand new variety , unlike Gamza and Pamid . It is a baby in comparison with other wine varieties . It was created in 1951 by cross-fertilization between two of the noblest wine varieties - the first one is the world-famous Pinot Noir and the other is Mavrud -  the best Bulgarian wine variety in some opinions.

It must be recognize that the creators of Bouquet would be proud of the qualities , that it was inherit from its parents .  The young wine is so incredible thing , that the every body who have tasted it, would   understand why ancient Greeks were drunk the wine diluted with water in relation 3:1 . It is so thick and acerbic because of the bigger quality of tannins  that it consist , and therefore it is not appropriate for each stomach . But with the maturing its nobility turns up.

According to many peoples who have tasted that wine , it has the qualities of Cabernet Sauvignon and at the same time it is quite better than Merlot . Of course , every body has own opinion and taste,  but it is indisputably that the Bouquet is exclusively wine , one of the best in the world scale as potential and at the same time thousands times rarer than other , converted to confection world-wide spread wine varieties.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet SauvignonAbout this wine variety has so  mach information that we are feeling uncomfortable to retell it.  Till now our plantations with Cabernet Sauvignon is quite small but if you join to the Project "New Vineyard " we  can increase its , furthermore that is one of the our priorities ( see "The Vineyards" )

If you believe or not , the climate in Bulgaria is arider than central  Europe  , therefore it is more appropriate for cultivating of Cabernet Sauvignon in comparison with much areas where it is cultivating.

For instance , in the year of 2000 , the sugar content in some vineyards in our region was 28% in condition that 22-23% is enough. Although , i thing that our authentic local wine varieties are better or more unique possibility , we would offer to you plantations with Cabernet Sauvignon without the problem .
