A lifelong love of wildlife and nature inspires my art.
I have spent many hours in the field observing and photographing
scenes of nature that confirms the handiwork of God and any wildlife that
happens to cross my path. As a child, I treasured a boxy Brownie camera, and gradually added other cameras to my
collection through the years.
My favorite first expensive camera with interchangeable lenses,
filters and close-up lenses was a Vöigtlander
Ultra CS camera from Germany. What I mainly use now are different Nikon camera bodies
and various lenses. My passion for photography has been used mainly as reference material for my
paintings until recently. Photography is becoming more important than the art, with success in photography competitions. |

Art has always been my first
love since childhood, but pursuing my art interests were set aside for careers, marriage,
children (Victoria and Kristina), and
travels in Europe with my husband, Paul, while he was in the Navy for many years.
In our travels, I used my creative skills as a cake decorating
instructor for over 25
years, and created cakes with edible paintings and three-dimensional
edible flowers.
In 1979 I
received my diploma for Complete Art from the Washington School of
Art.
Later, I studied an Italian glazing technique (for oils) from a master artist
for 3 1/2 years starting in 1992 and concentrated on producing quality oil
paintings of the wildlife subjects I photographed.
The watercolor paintings
show a variety of landscapes, domestic flowers and even wildlife
subjects in a looser style of
painting. |

My indoor/outdoor art show
schedule begins the end of June and ends in early October.
My
favorite art shows are: July 4th at Frost Country (4 miles south of Rangeley
on Rt 4), August 9
at Mill Creek Art in the Park in South Portland and the Sugarloaf Show at the Base Lodge during the 2nd
weekend in October. |
God has blessed me over the years
in many ways. Every photography outing brings me close to the nature God provides for us to enjoy and reflect His gift to us.
Psalm 107:1, "O Give
thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for
ever." Col. 3:23, "And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto
men."
