Dinute Mileika

 

Ms. Danute Mileika was one of the ten finalists in 1997 and 1998 New England Regional Met Auditions in Boston, MA.  She is a native of Lithuania, where she graduated Opera Vocal Major at the Lithuanian Music Academy in Vilnius, Lithuania.   She also graduated Opera Vocal Major at S. Simkus Conservatory of Music in Klaipeda, Lithuania.  She was a 3rd prize winner at the 1992 J. Medinia International Singing Competition in Riga, Latvia, and a 2nd prize winner at Lithuania's Young Singers Competition in Kaunas, Lithuania.  She has performed Maddalena in Rigoletto, Mrs. Page in Merry Wives of Windsor, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi.

Ms. Mileika has performed as a soloist in the Lord Nelson and Mariazeller Masses of Haydn at the Fourth International Church festival "Siauliai-93" Shiauliai, Lithuania, and Stabat Mater by Pergolesi with Lithuania's Cameral Orchestra conducted by Saulius Sondeckis.

Ms. Mileika is a frequent soloist with various oratorio societies and recital groups in the Boston area.  She also sang Lola in Cavaleria Rusticana (1996), Adalgisa in Norma (1997) and Amneris in Aida (1998) with Boston Bel Canto Opera Company.  She appeared live on WGBH radio, Boston in 1997 and 1998.  She sang in Opera Cabaret presented by WGBH and hosted by Ron Della Chiesa at the Harvard's Paine Hall in Cambridge, MA 1998.

Ms. Danute Mileika was a finalist of the Classical Productions competition which took place at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, NYC on September 17, 1999.
