Bradley Pennington

 

Mr. Pennington is the founder and artistic director of Boston Bel Canto Opera. He is a former opera coach for Lowell Opera, Boston Concert Opera, Providence Opera, Tufts Opera Theatre and Indiana University Opera Theatre. His private opera voice studio in Boston's South End has produced many opera singers who have made important debuts in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Baltimore and in Italy, Austria, Germany and South Africa. A former teacher of graduate opera history at The Boston Conservatory, he is a frequent lecturer on Italian opera in metropolitan Boston. He is the technical protégé of Madame Dr. Iride Pilla and is former teaching assistant to Signor Arrigo Pola, voice teacher of Luciano Pavarotti. Il Trovatore marks the fourth collaboration with Symphony by the Sea.   The previous collaborations include Aïda, Norma and Roberto Devereux.

Mr. Pennington will record his first professional compact disc with soprano Joanna Porackova in 2001 for Americal records of Washington, DC.  This will be a recital of rare Italian songs, most of which have never been previously recorded.
