Thomas Carlo Bo has extensive experience conducting operas. From 1993 to 1998 he was Music Director of Opera Music Theater International, a young artists program for opera singers under the direction of Jerome Hines. From 1993 to 1997, he was Music Director in residence of the Long Island Opera at SUNY in Old Westbury, New York, and from 1996 to 1998 he was Interim Music Director of the Massapequa Philharmonic. He has guest conducted Lucia di Lammermour, NY University and Opera at Florham, NJ, The Magic Flute and Die Fleidermaus at Florham, La Traviata with Teatro Lyrico d'Europa in France and Spain, and Roberto Devereux and Il Trovatore with Boston Bel Canto Opera and Symphony by the Sea orchestra. This fall, Mr. Bo makes his conducting debut with Symphony by the Sea, Marblehead, MA in a program of Mozart, Saint-Saens and Debussy, and with the South Shore Philharmonic of NY in an American concert featuring music of Copeland and Hanson. Mr. Bo's next appearance as a pianist will be at the Greenwich Music House in New York City in a program featuring the vocal music of Ned Rorem. |
