Giovanni and Andrea Gabrielli were among the first composers to really utilize the flexibility of brass instruments. From Brass Trios through Quartets, Quintets, Brass Choirs, and even Double Choirs, there is joy when the brass is sounded. I am a member of The Roscoe Brass , a quintet based in Coshocton, Ohio. The abundance of good music that is available today is due in large part to the popularity of groups such as the Canadian Brass, the Empire Brass, and the Roscoe Brass (just kidding!).
