Curling Hair
Crimping
"To Curl hair I use cut straws and Bobby Pins. Wrap the hair around and set into place with the pins. Let dry over night. Remove in morning and you will have ringlets. Shake the pony and it will soften to soft curls." -Sail-Away
" Loose curl....curl hair with fingers and twist. Lay on side and let dry. I have found this the best way to let the hair curl and not have it too loose." -Sail- Away
"For curling hair, I bought a bag of perm rods at a yard sale and they work great. If you want the curl to be permanent, boil some water and dip the rolled up hair (still in curlers) into the water for a few seconds. Blot it dry with a towel, and let it dry in the sun, or use a hair dryer if you are in a hurry. When the hair is dry, remove the curlers and the curl will be set ." -The Delaneys "I recommend using the cool or warm settings on the hair dryer-it could melt hair if too hot!!" -Up, Up, and Away
"For the frizz, I have had incredible frizz in ponies and what I do is wash their hair with suave shampoo and then I use either Willow Lake or Sauve's Lavender conditioner. Set them with the conditioner in their hair for 2 minutes or so and then rinse. If it's still frizzed and they would look nice with curls, I put home made curlers (cut up sports bottle straws) in their hair held by bobby pins then I dip their hair into a pot of boiling water. If you want tight curls let dry with curlers in and if you want loose ones, take them out when the hair is still partially damp. You can always redip them to tighten or loosen the curls later. I have had extrodanary results!" -Aine
" To crimp you just braid the hair and take it out in a couple of days (or even in a few hours if you want to). Just braid it in smaller braids." -*~PS~*
