The periods of time as shown above were established taking into account the birth dates of the composers and their artistic styles according to the literature by several authors. Some of these authors are not in agreement as to the artistic styles of a number of composers.
Therefore, the boundary dates of the tables above are approximated to minimize these disagreements.
The period between 1550 and 1650 is representative of the hazy boundary between the RENAISSANCE and BARROQUE periods.
The only representative of the Renaissance in the lists found in this site is PALESTRINA just to make a slight reference to the Renaissance period.
