Flute Biographies

The flute section this year is made up of Sarah O., Joe J., Rikki K., Diane K., Molly M., Jenny J. and Stacy P.
Jenny J. is a sophomore at Gross. This is Jenny's second year in the G.H.S. band. She has been playing the flute for 6 years. She played the second flute part in the '96-'97 concert band.

Joe J. is a senior at Gross. This is Joe's fourth year in the G.H.S. Band. He has been playing the flute for 9 years and played the second flute part in the '96-'97 concert band. He also participated in the Flute Quartet, and is a section leader. Joe has won the following awards:

Rikki K. is a junior at Gross. This is Rikki's third year in the G.H.S. Band. She has been playing the flute for 6 years and played the first flute part in the '96-'97 concert band. Other than playing the flute, she is making a brave attempt at playing the oboe in the '97-'98 concert band. She has participated in the Flute Quartet, Band Staff, and the River Cities Conference Honor Band in 1996. She has won the following awards:

Diane K. is a junior at Gross. This is Diane's third year in the G.H.S. Band. She has been playing the flute for 8 years and played the first flute part in the '96-'97 concert band. She also participated in the Flute Quartet, and the orchestra for the musicals "South Pacific" in 1996 and "The Wizard of Oz" in 1997. She also participated in the River Cities Conference Honor Band in 1996. She has won the following awards:

    Molly M. is a junior at Gross. This is Molly's second year in the G.H.S. band. She has been playing the flute for 8 years and played the second flute part in the '96-'97 concert band. She has won excellents on a solo this year at both the District Music Contest and the Elkhorn Band Olympics.

    Sarah O. is a senior at Gross. This is Sarah's fourth year in the G.H.S. band. She has been playing the flute for 7 years and played the first flute part in the '96-'97 concert band. She also participates in the Flute Quartet and is a section leader. She has won an excellent in the Flute Quartet at the 1996 District Music Awards, and a superior on a solo.
