After the happy experience of my post-graduation theses "QUANTUM MUSIC" (indicated for publication - coming soon - and listen to the final part of the music HADR�ONS), I am thinking really serious about developing my doctorate thesis (yeah, in Brasil we have to make two of them to be a PhD). It will be titled Holofractal Music, pointing out some specific problems as the "reversibility of time" and the difficulties of a mass promoting of contemporary music (what I call the "communicational problem"). Nevertheless, its basis relies on the study of CHAOS SCIENCE and FRACTAL GEOMETRY.
My experiences had began with a different approach from the others I've seen on the Net. The major part of the researches about music and fractals are based upon a MIDI approach. I have nothing against them, but I prefer to work out the sound itself (and not only its structuration). Because of that, I am using a Macintosh (with softwares like SoundHack, SoundEdit and DECK). The treatment of the timbre dimension is the most difficult and relevant field in actual researches around the world, so I'd like to interconnect it with the Fractal perspectives.
