First, this Saturday, starting around 2 p.m., they'll be playing at Goldwater Memorial Hospital on Roosevelt Island, as part of the FDNY Anchor Club's annual Holiday Party. The public is invited to attend; and volunteers with nonperishable items for Goldwater patients are welcomed. I'm Richard Washington, Founder and Chairman of Electric Pirates Entertainment, and best known in bagpiping circles as Boswell and Chronicler to the Men of the Pipes and Drums of the New York City Fire Department Emerald Society! Boy, am I lucky that you ave a page on your site which tells the tale of the McGonigal Clan. You see, my book, "Boswell of the Band," while mostly about the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and their history as seen from my perspective, also refers to the tragic Memorial Day ccurence which culminated in Sean's death. The reference is included in one of the book's extended chapters, which salutes the Drum Major of the NYPD Emerald Society Pipe Band, the immortal M/Sgt. Finbar Devine, whose own death occured almost a year ago n xt week.
