Just came across your website. My father, Joe,Sr.
had a bar in Newark called Dick's Rathskeller. After the St. Patty's Day Parade, some of the bandmembers would come in for a corned beef and cabbage dinner(for which I peeled potatoes after school for five days prior) and then would play for their supper and I thought the ceiling would come down on us, it was so loud. This would have been during the mid-1950's. I looked forward to that day every year in spite of all the spuds I knew I'd have to cut. Thanks for the memories.
