Benvenuti a Palermo
Here's a glimpse at the long-famed capital of Sicily, the place where the origins of our illustrious Italian Crime families come from. Not to say that I am totally free from this society, although I swear that I have no contact with "The Family" what-so-ever.
After a long trip, I planned on coming to the Sicilian Island looking for the roots of my Grandmother's family, the Luchese's. So, I unfortunately only spent half a day wandering around Palermo, but I'm sure I saw most of the important stuff.
Here's the Theatro Massimo, Palermo's most historic and oldest theater. With its majestic front, this Theatro stands out in the city and draws visitors to it.
The next picture is not too far from the Theatro Massimo. It is one of the ancient temples in Palermo, that were built hundreds (maybe even thousdans of years ago.
The next pictures show off the architecture and beauty of Palermo. To the left is a picture of a cathedral near the city's palace, and the picture on the right is the gardens in front of the Sicilian Government's home.
Continue on with me as I head to Roccapalumba, Syracuse, and Taormina. You can also head back to the rest of Italy and my other adventures in Europe.
