You can see a Golden Age in the world of Carnatic Music where a Trinity of Composers lived in more or less the same period. They have rendered so many devotional pieces towards God.
They are
These three persons have contributed a lot of songs and today those songs are really our true wealth in Carnatic Music. They are also called as MUMURTHIGAL (Meaning three) now. Among them, Thyagarajar hailed from Tanjore district (Tamilnadu, India) and has writtten songs in Telegu basically upon the Lord Rama. Syama Sastri has written songs Sanskrit praising the Goddess. Muthuswami Dikshathar has contributed songs in Sanskrit towards Goddess and Lord Shiva which are considered very difficult to learn and sing.
Ofcourse, as told already Purandaradasa gave songs upon Lord Krishna in Kannada and Annamacharya about the Lord in Tirupathi in Telegu. Gopalakrishna Bharathi has written many pieces in Tamil upon the Lord in Chidambaram (Shiva). Arunagirinathar and Arunachalakavirayar upon Lord Muruga. In the recent century Papanasam Sivan has rendered so many beautiful pieces in Tamil towards Lord Shiva and followed by persons.................It goes on and on.
Mostly all the composers leave a specific word in any place in their songs, to identify that the song is being written by them. If U want to identify them, some are here...
So now if U go to a concert, if the Musician sings a song U can identify the composer of the song, that covers in our list. Am I right? Some Composers won't leave any specific word to identify like this. In that case unless U know individually about the song or heard thru' others about the author, U may not be able to identify the composers.
