The Everest base camp trek

Part 11:  Lobuche

Lobuche is a tiny village (elev. 4900m.) located along side a river. It is a place for trekkers to stay (mostly going up to Gorak Shep.)

Getting closer to the giants.

  Small huts in Lobuche.

Yet another crow.

In the afternoon, the clouds set in.

Until the mountains are barely visible.

In case you were wondering, the lodges between Lukla and Tukla all had "private rooms". These are tiny cells having one or two beds as well as dormitary rooms (which cost less). Lobuche and Gorak Shep have only dormitory rooms.

Just before sunset, the clouds sometimes go away.

A porter carrying his heavy load in the morning. Note the frozen river in the background.

About 30 minutes later, The sun comes up and everything thaws.
