The Everest base camp trek

Part 6: Tengboche to Pheriche

As you climb from Tengboche to Pheriche (elev. 4200m), vegetation becomes scarce, and a bolder scene becomes all present.

Agricultural terraces along the way.

Along the way, Ama Dablam becomes present. It is an inspiring view as many people have called it "the most photogenic mountain in the world."

Yaks carrying a "North Face" load. In the background a small chorten and Ama Dablam.

One of the most fascinating aspects of trekking in this season (October-November) is that flowers change the landscape colors from week to week. This red blossom was very common when we went up to Kalla Patar. When we went back, none of it was present.
