Dear Interested Party:
This letter is to notify you that the Culver City
Redevelopment Agency is tentatively scheduled to consider
at its meeting on Tuesday, January 19, 1999, a
staff report recommending an amendment to the contract
with architectural firm Widom Wein Cohen O'Leary Terasawa
for
design of the proposed new Senior Center.
The proposed new Senior Center was previously designed to
be located on two acres of the three-acre site at Overland
Avenue and Culver Boulevard, with a privately-owned senior
housing development on the remaining one acre. In
December 1998, the Agency decided to retain the entire
three-acre site for the new Senior Center building and
related parking. THERE WILL BE NO HOUSING ON THIS SITE.
(Caps inserted by "webmaster")
Therefore, the schematic designs for the new Senior Center
will have to be revised to incorporate the one-acre site.
That is the purpose of the amendment and the basis of the
staff report.
The Agency meeting will be held in the City Council
Chambers at 9770 Culver Boulevard at 7:00 p.m. Free
Parking is available in the garage off Duquesne Avenue.
Council Chamber is accessible to individuals in
wheelchairs.
If the item will indeed be heard on January 19,
1999, as
scheduled, the staff report will be available on January
13,
1999, at 5:00 m.m. Please call me at (310) 253-5768 or
email me
at dora.gallo@ci.culver-city.ca.us to confirm the
scheduling of
this item, or if you have any questions regarding the
amendment
or would like to pick up a copy of the report.
Sincerely,

(Webmaster notes - not much GROWING GRASS, or a table to
play
some chess or checkers in the summer sunshine, just
pavement to
gather and reflect heat and seal up the
ground! Wanna bet there is additional paving cost, AND
air-conditioning costs, within the building, to offset all
the
HEAT. Some of the many millions to build parking
structures
DOWNTOWN could be used to
build the same here, and leave some open space!!)
