ABSTRACT

This paper investigates special product data requirements within the context of concurrent engineering. It covers the information technology needed to support product data and product data management to facilitate CE practices. Discussion is primarily focused on product data representation, exchange, supporting infrastructure, and management throughout the whole lifecycle of the product. Current research work at AMMT as regarding a non proprietary solution to a concurrent engineering system is presented.
