MY FRIENDS
People always seem to have some sort of friends
page floating around their personal websites. So lest my friends feel
left out, here goes. If you qualify for this page but are not here, don't
get upset; I just don't know your site address. So email me and tell me. (In addition, I would note that the search for one's friends' web pages is an excellent procrastination tool. An opportunity to learn some really interesting things ... )
- Jonathan Liu -- Jon gets to be first, because his homepage is just about the funniest thing I've ever read (OK, so I don't get out much :-) ), and more importantly was the inspiration for my current homepage greatness.
- Vivian Pao -- yes, she's a Yalie, but she's beautiful and wonderful and my friend, so don't even begin to knock her. Cows are definitely cool.
- Lesley Chen -- I just can't find words to say how awesome this chica is. Her web page is only a pale reflection of her incredible amazingness, but you should check it out anyway.
- Andrew Wolfe -- My wonderfully idiosyncratic little bro
- Nate Barksdale -- Nates's page was another one of those inspirations that shamed me into bettering my Web representative ... and like Jon, he's incredibly funny. I agree, personal pages are a magnet for stalkers, but I admit to a secret love of blinking text ...
- Robyn Runft -- Go Class of'98 UC women!! Robyn is fun, wise, creative, caring and a terrific woman of God. She also has a nifty web page, with important links to Winnie-the-Pooh sites. Check it out.
- Felicia Wu -- I didn't know the name of the castle, but I went in anyway; it was well worth the trip. With a personality as vibrant as the flowers she so loves, Felicia is just a wonderful friend and sister in Christ. Hey, that's two UC sparklers on here!
Friends Without Web Pages
'Cause I definitely have several of those. These people, while not necessarily plugged in, absolutely deserve mention, and my web page has been horribly incomplete without them.
- Robin Mary Sanders -- I could write an ode to Robin. An epic poem. I should write her biography, because then everything that happened in Ireland would finally be known. :-) No one could have a better best friend, one who won't stop speaking to you when you call her up at 3AM to exult over your 10 (now 12!!) years of knowing one another. (This episode was all Ray's fault, by the way.) I
am continually amazed at her incredible wisdom and unfailing support, and her tolerance of me when no one else in the world wants to even admit that they know me. I love her to death, and pray that everyone gets to have someone this awesome in their lives.
- Erica Silverstein -- I really look up to Erica. Really. ;-) I also love her down-to-earth, common sense, "Brandy, what are you DOING???" way of listening to my many life sagas.
- Jen Beatty -- not to be confused with Jen Pence (see below), although they have the same hair, eyes, class schedules and ivy-decorated sheets. (Hmmmm ...) She can admantly defend Las Vegas to you as a great place to raise your kids; since she didn't turm out too warped (debauchery dances notwithstanding ;-) ), I guess we should probably take her word fot it.
- Jen Pence -- She's quiet on the outside, but don't let that fool you. Inside she is a raging chocolate gorrilla just waiting to wreak havoc upon the world in a hail of fudge brownies. Or maybe a hail of regular, cheddar and caramel popcorn, by the tin.
