Take up ManBREAK Challenge

People complain that bands these days lack passion - nobody will ever say that about ManBREAK.
Lead singer Swindelli says: "It's becoming unfashionable to challenge orthodoxy through music, a lot of artists won't stick their heads over the precipice. We push the boundaries." But unlike most other socially conscious bands ManBREAK's politics do not hide a lack of talent.
In fact, their album Come And See was one of the best releases of the summer - despite their problems in finding a producer.
"As soon as they read the lyrics the shied away," says Swindelli. "But in the end Stephen Hague who has produced the Pet Shop Boys and New Order asked to work with us.
"He said that it was because of our attitudes that he wanted to work with us."
ManBREAK are playing The Lomax tonight and Swindelli will be hoping for more than a few converts. "Music can't change the world," he says. "But if we can add to the argument, then at least we are doing something."
