ManBREAK: Funk-core-delia

WHO?
Five righteous Liverpudlians fronted by a man called Swindelli, once of Eighties agit-poppers 25th of May, but now the instigator of that rarest of creatures, a political album with ambition in both sound and spirit. His band relises that merely feeling disconcerted isn't enough.
WHY?
Because we need it, quite frankly. "Come and See" is driven by a vision that manages to sound vast without resorting to sentimentality, and a furious energy that doesn't waste time up the cul-de-sacs of petty narcissism. They sound very Liverpool, very noble, with occasional traces of Wah!-style anthems, but steeled with hip hop influences and an undeniable lust for life.
"The aesthetic is first and foremost," says Swindelli. "The overall feel is what people get initially. I don't give a fuck if people don't identify with the lyrics, to tell you the truth. As long as it transmits human experience, that's the key."
WHAT'S NEW?
Swindelli again: "As far as I'm concerned, the band is a cause. It's an imposition of will. We want to be important, not just a bunch of gobshites."
God, I like this man.
WHEN?
When your life needs changing.
