Italian composer (Clusone 12.8.1626 - Venice 27.5.1690).
He's considered, beside Corelli, one of the major baroque instrumentators, ingenious creator of forms and styles which will be inherited by his disciples Lotti, Caldara, Gasparini, Gabrielli.
G. Legrenzi's main stylistic peculiarities are dry essentiality of the ideas, concentration of the speech, timbre variety; typical Venetian elements which will be found also in Vivaldi.
