The Way Image

What a mighty God we serve!

I decided it was time to update this page, because the life of a Christian should never be stagnant! The Lord is so wonderful every day, and it is a joy to me to be able to share the amazing ways in which He shapes my life.

One of the most difficult things about being a Christian for me is having the willingness to let go of my personal control over the details of my life, and waiting to see how God will provide for me or direct me as a situation unfolds. Harvard doesn't help! -- the self-sufficiency, workaholism and ambition that brought most of us to this place are in direct conflict with the idea of yielding and waiting on the Lord. It's tough to sit back in a situation where you know you could find a way to supply what seems to be needed, and believe in the face of the critical moment that this waiting has allowed God to work out not only your own situation, but situations in the lives of people you didn't even know you were connected to. Especially when He doesn't let you in on the details of the process beforehand. ;-)

But this waiting, this release, all has a purpose in God's plan to return us to perfect fellowship with Him. He will rid us of every means of our own, so that we realize our only source is Christ. He will empty us of every practice, every attitude that is not in line with the mind of God, but only so that we can be filled to overflowing with His Spirit and power which will enable us for every challenge and circumstance. Only when we are unhindered vessels for those rivers of living water can He use us to serve others to the best of our God-given abilities.

Jesus was so powerful only because He was God in every fiber. I thank the Lord every day for the ways I see Him moving within me, my family members and my friends, to bring us all closer to that absolute oneness with Him. Glory be to the Father for His amazing faithfulness!

From one of my favorite Psalms, Psalm 37, verses 3-5 --

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

---

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
