In its own way, this piano is a standout, a very serious "studio grand". There are some people out there who need a piano like this, either as a second piano for their piano studio to compliment a great grand piano or because they live in a shoebox sized apartment and can't afford the space for a grand. This is a classic professional's piano, great for an arranger, a voice coach, a composer, a choir director, etc. For such a person, with special needs, this is one of the best pianos I've ever seen of its type largely because it was so competently and lovingly restored to its "as new" condition and no they don't make them like this any more. It has all the unique Steinway qualities, both in tone and touch, has a reasonable repetition for all the repertoire but the most complicated Ravel and Liszt. I'd suggest that this piano stands as sort of an acme by which all rebuilt upright pianos I've ever seen, or am likely to ever see, deserve to be compared. It really is that good. There were to be other great upright pianos on the tour but none with the pedigree and character of this one.
