The Vancouver Island Jack Russell Terrier Club was started in the spring of 1997 by a small group of
terrier enthusiasts. The club is dedicated to helping owners enjoy their Jack Russell Terriers to
the fullest, and encouraging owners to be proud of the working history of this breed. The VIJRTC promotes the
preservation of the unique qualities and
heritage of the type of working terrier that has been known for over 100 years as the
Jack Russell Terrier. The VIJRTC is affiliated with the
Jack Russell Terrier Club of Canada.
To keep members in touch with one another and abreast of current Jack Russell Terrier events, the VIJRTC publishes a newsletter on a quarterly basis, containing upcoming events, educational articles, and other features of interest to terrier owners.
Above all, the VIJRTC hopes to develop a strong and loyal membership
base. With this in mind, the VIJRTC is open to all Jack Russell
Terriers - this includes rescues, mixes and dogs of unknown
pedigree, as well as those dogs registerable or recordable with the Jack Russell
Terrier Club of Canada (JRTCC) and the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America (JRTCA).
Members enjoy reduced entry fees at trials and fun days, access to a support network of other terrier owners, and a newsletter published quarterly. Click here to join.
