The spaceship is speeding through space, Pan is giving Trunks a hard time by refusing to give up the key to the ship, while Goku eats. Trunks gives up when Pan puts the key down her shirt.
Back at the Son household, Chi Chi does laundry while wondering about Goku and Pan... At Capsule Corps Labs, Bulma looks over a computer blueprint trying to find what the purpose of the spaceship part she found is... Chi Chi hopes Goku can take care of Pan...
Back on the spaceship, Pan takes charge by assigning chores and shoves them out of the way when she cleans. Trunks is flabbergasted that Pan calls him just plain Trunks instead of Trunks-san (sign of respect). Goku says he doesn't like doing chores...
The ship then shakes violently. They look outside only to find a rather big piece of the spaceship floating away. The kids wonder what’s happening, while Trunks is paralyzed in fear...
Bulma then discovers the purpose of the device. It appears to be the direction control device for the spaceship. Bulma jumps in surprise and fear, then wonders if Trunks is okay...
The ship violently shakes as Trunks try to retain control to land somewhere because the ship will explode soon. Pan starts to cry that she doesn't want to die yet because she hasn't been on a date yet. Goku, wonders about how they would get the Dragonballs, but Pan screams her first date is more important. Trunks yell for everyone to get their seatbelts on while he tries to land. Goku's seatbelt has been completely tied up in knots...
They succeed in crash landing the ship in a desert and head for a nearby city. The planet's name is Amiga and has a crowded market. Suddenly, merchants swarm them, each putting their own merchandise on the GT team and complimenting on how good they look now (stuff included feathered turbans, blonde wigs, and a snake). Goku receives a basket of red fruit and starts munching away. Trunks says they only need spaceship parts, and all of them hand various parts to them. They also calculate the bill to be 100,000 gammeks (where do Earthlings get alien currency) and no refunds...
The team finds themselves to a hotel, and enters with caution because of the experience they had earlier. They check in, and a robotic bellboy takes their luggage, and Goku, to their room. They get a lavish room that looks really expensive. The bellboy drops the luggage, and Goku, and leaves after it receives a tip. Trunks jump onto the bed; Pan goes take a shower, while Goku looks for food...
Trunks turns on the TV and we are introduced to the leader of the planet, Don Keo. He then wonders if this is a communist planet? Pan wonders why the shower doesn’t stop. As Trunks goes to check, he finds that a chain has been attached to him, not allowing him to leave the bed. Goku then yells that the fridge keeps pouring food out (of course he's happy). Then Pan notices there's a pricing meter on the shower. Trunks finds a pricing meter on the bed as well, and we notice the meter on the refrigerator, the TV, the lights, the ceiling fan, the clock, etc. Trunks breaks out of the chains and they escape the hotel...
The team is now out in the rain. Pan and Goku argue a little; Pan blames Goku for being turned into a kid forcing them to go to space. Trunks suggests to just go back to the spaceship. Then, Pan accidentally breaks a wall into the home of some family. After the wall is patched, they tell us that Don Keo is responsible for turning the people into a money grubbing society...
At this time, some robots of Don Keo came to collect the lease the family owes. They can't pay so the robots take the house and everything they have away. They explained that before Don Keo was king, their planet wasn't like this. Now everyone has to pay Don Keo rent is expensive forcing people into poverty or into extremely greedy merchants that prey on tourists...
Goku offers to beat them up to get their stuff back. They thank him for the offer but it would make no difference because Don Keo would just send his army in. This saddens the team...
The next day, the team makes their way back to their spaceship. They wish they could help, but Trunks says that every planet has its own set of laws and they can't get just get involved, and that they only have a year to collect the Dragon Balls. Pan suggests that this planet might have one and gets Trunks to check the radar. As he gets it out, a robotic voice says "energy", which made Trunks drop the radar. It bounces towards the robot that talked (looks like 2 white spheres on top on one another, the top one being smaller since it's the head), and it consumed the radar. They are shocked and Trunks grabs the robot as it reports that it’s fully recharged now. It pops out of the ground and springs arms and legs. Trunks is pissed and want the radar back so he grabs the robot. Pan tells Trunks to look over there...
Someone is taking the spaceship, then Trunks notices the robot has escaped. So he chases after the robot. Pan helps out, only to run head on into Trunks. Goku is the one that manages to catch it. Trunks holds on to the robot as they watch their ship move further and further away...
