In Hell, Goku is a little skeptical that Piccolo can help him get back to the Earth. Piccolo tells him to just watch, and calls for Dende. On Earth, explosions are occuring beneath the clouds as Dende and Mr. Popo watches from Kami's Palace. Dende hears Piccolo, Piccolo tells him that he's going to radiate his force at him, and wants Dende to do the same to him from where he is.

Piccolo tells Dende that they are going to do this simultaneously. He explains (while flashing back to episode 42 where the rift to Hell opened) that according to Kaiou-sama (King Kai), that rift in the sky was formed from the resonation between the two Androids. He thinks the same thing should happen if they make their powers resonate. Dende understands.

Goku doesn't really know what they are talking about, but it seems similar to fusion... Piccolo tells him that's right, but it's the fusing of two hearts. Piccolo steps up the the cliff above where the hole to Earth was, and tells Dende they have to get the timing just right. They start to focus their ki on to each other and count "1, 2, 3" then they blast at the dimensional border, but Dende was slow on this one.

They try again, but this time Dende jumps the gun and blasts too early. Piccolo yells to try again, and Goku notices since it isn't easy, then it is the same as fusion. He thinks this is going to take a while as Piccolo failed again. Goku's stomach starts to growl, and the remembers they were in the middle of lunch when he came here. Goku yells at some Oni asking them for something to eat; they are currently transporting Frieza and Cell, who are chained in a cage. Piccolo and Dende failed again.

On Earth, Goten is being repelled away by a blast from Super 17. Trunks goes to attack, but gets punched in the gut, then kicked aside. Ubuu yells for Trunks, and Super 17 calls them idiots... Dr. Gero orders him to get rid of all of them. Dr. Myuu's "glasses" light up with computer gibberish (lol), and then so do Super 17's eyes. #17 takes his left hand off to reveal a machine gun, which he fires at Ubuu. After he finishes, Ubuu is gone, buried under rubble.

Super 17 puts his hand back on, and Vegeta steps up calling him an asshole. In a distance, Pan and Mr. Satan are by an unconscience Gohan. Pan cries for her grandpa to hurry back... On the crystal ball in Hell, Goku watches #17 beating Vegeta up thinking #17 is only playing around. Goku asks Piccolo if he's done yet, and he tells him to shut up so he can concentrate. Piccolo tells Dende to extend his arms at the same time he does... They try again, and fail again.

In the lineup to the afterlife (we see, I think, Nappa, and Rirudo), Black Hosa is not happy that they are killed immediately after being resurrected. Blue Shogun tells him that he didn't know the boys would be so strong, then hopes he can get into Heaven this time. Black Hosa tells Blue if he gets in, then he'll get to be Kami (God). Enma is just sending Pui Pui to Hell, while an Oni directs them to a bus to Hell. Enma tells them that if they come right back, they shouldn't have bothered leaving Hell.

Back at the battle, Vegeta curses Super 17... Then powers up again to Super Saiyan. #17 asks if turning blonde is the only talent he has... Vegeta gets pissed and glows white, then attacks. They go at it, but #17 is blocking everything, and retaliates with hits. When Vegeta launches again, #17 goes to punch, but hits an afterimage. Vegeta calls him a sucker, from behind and tries to kick him, but hits his afterimage. #17 appears behind Vegeta and hits him into the air. #17 then blasts Vegeta as he falls down, and when he did, he lost the SSJ.

In Hell, Goku tells Vegeta to hang on a bit longer... An Oni shows up to bring Goku his meal. Goku is delighted, which seems to annoy Piccolo. Goku sits down and opens the pot to the soup, but then some of the things in it started to jump up revealing that they are skulls. This scares Goku, and Piccolo tells them all to be quiet then "Do you want this or not? Who do you think I'm doing this for?".

Goku apologizes saying he didn't know the skulls would pop out... Piccolo is still angry, and Goku steps back saying it was his fault and he won't bother him. Dende tells Piccolo that he thinks he's got the hang of it and wants to try again. Goku's stomach starts growling, and we see Piccolo's big ears react. Somewhere on Earth (looks like the Great Desert Goku met Yamcha in), the one star Dragon Ball cracks.

(Commercial Break)

Piccolo and Dende try again, but Dende's a little slow... Some blocks of stone start to rise behind Dende... They almost had it this time, and Piccolo comments on how the timing is screwed up at the last moment. Goku tells him he has a countdown that works pretty well, and tells him it's Tendon (Shrimp rice), Katsudon (pork rice), and Oyakudon (chicken and egg rice). Piccolo gets pissed, and yells not to joke.

Goku tells him he isn't, and that it worked well when he and Pan used it to kill Lude. With an embarressed flush on their faces, Piccolo and Dende try it... and they succeed. They two blast strike the dimensional barrier at the same time, more blocks behind Dende float, and Piccolo tells Dende to spread his arms to create the hole. Piccolo does that on his end, but Dende has trouble, but he manages to succeed. The blast disappears, but they continue to be energized to keep the hole open.

Piccolo tells Goku to go, and Goku thanks him. Then stops and asks if he's coming along. Piccolo tells him that he'd like to, but can't move since the hole will collapse if he does, and that this is almost unbearable. Goku realizes he's going to stay in Hell... Piccolo tells him he was prepared to, and tells him to leave. The hole closes a bit, and Dende says he can't hold it for much longer.

Goku apologizes for this, and tells him he owes him another one. Piccolo tells him he'll be praying for him, and Goku flies into the hole. Goku arrives on Earth, thanks Dende, and continues to fly off. They stop and the hole quickly closes... In Hell, the bad guys are back, and saying not to worry, they will probably be able to return to Earth again soon. Piccolo tells them they won't be messing around as long as he's here...

At the battle, Super 17 uses Vegeta as a punching bag. Pan can't take it any more, Mr. Satan holds her back telling her she won't last a second against him... Dr. Myuu thinks it's pathetic to see a Saiya-jin in such condition... Vegeta is punched away and lands a little away... Dr. Gero tells #17 to stop playing and deliver the final blow.

Super 17 raises his hand and prepares a blast... Vegeta says his body won't move, and asks if this is the end of him and his powers... Dr. Myuu tells him to not blame himself, and praises their efforts... Super 17's energy ball gets bigger... Pan sneaks up from behind and attacks Dr. Gero. She gets him in a hold, and tells him to stop #17. Dr. Gero calls her a brat and tries to get her off, but she tights her grip, and demands to make #17 stop or she'll make him sorry. Dr. Gero tells her this isn't child's play and to let go before she gets hurt. Pan doesn't, and Dr. Gero realizes she's really strong.

Gill comes flying in, and points a barrel of a gun/blaster to Dr. Gero's head. Pan tell him it isn't toy, and demands again to make #17 stop. Dr. Gero finally agrees and orders Super 17 to stop. Super 17 powers down, then aims at Dr. Gero. He energizes the blast again, and Dr. Myuu laughs, then tells him that he reprogrammed Super 17 to obey only him. He tells Gero that conquering the Earth means nothing, now his dream of conquering the universe is a reality.

Dr. Myuu tells Gero that Super 17 is no longer the ultimate Android, but is now reborn as the ultimate Machine Mutant. Dr. Gero realizes #17 is betraying him again... He sees the image of the old #17 superimposing on to Super 17... Dr. Myuu yells to "do it" and #17 fires... Pan and Gill move out of the way and the blast blows Dr. Gero to pieces. The explosion also takes Pan out, and damages Gill. Mr. Satan rushes to the unconscience Pan.

Super 17 tells Dr. Myuu that he thinks all Earthlings are weak vermin, they should destroy the planet and prepare to conquer the universe, and he prepares to blast Vegeta again. Dr. Myuu agrees and tells him there's nothing to worry about since Son Goku is gone. Vegeta wakes up, asking him what he said. He goes "What is it with Goku?", and calls Myuu an asshole. Then he powers up to Super Saiya-jin, expelling a large aura.

Vegeta says they don't need Kakarotto to protect the Earth... He tells him that he, Vegeta, is worthy of the job. Dr. Myuu thinks he's crazy... A Saiya-jin declaring to protect the Earth... Then goes and says that there's no use for a Saiya-jin who has lost his pride, and tells him to die. Super 17 blasts Vegeta... Vegeta yells "I am an Earthling with Saiya-jin pride!", but Goku tackles Vegeta to get him out of the way.

Vegeta sees Kakorotto... Goku smiles and nods at him... Vegeta calls him an idiot and faints. Goku tells him to leave the rest to him. Dr. Myuu is surprised he's back from Hell. Goku tells him that he was uncomfortable there, and the food was bad. Dr. Myuu tells him to shut up and says his Super 17 will take him back very soon. Goku wants to see and rocks start flying into the air... Goku powers up to Super Saiya-jin... Dr. Myuu yells for Super 17 to "go", and he runs at him... Their fists collide with great force...
