Storm clouds roll in and blacken the skies... A cold wind blows across the land... Goku and Pan are digging graves for the Nameks.
Tired and dirty, they rest up against a tree.
Goku: Grandma... What are the Nameks?
Pan: What? Weren't you listening to me before? All the stories I told you? You remember nothing?
Goku: Uh... Sorry.
Pan: Well, maybe now without that video game of yours you'll listen.
The Nameks are aliens from a far away planet. They have the ability to create magic orbs called Dragon Balls. There are seven of them, and when brought together, a dragon can be summoned to grant us any wish. One of those Nameks came to Earth long ago and made a home here. He created a set of Dragon Balls here, and now they are probably scattered across the Earth. Except of course...
Goku: The one I found on Mt. Paozu?
Pan: Yes, that one, the four star ball. That one used to belong to my grandfather's grandfather... It was passed to him, and since you found it, it has now passed to you. You did keep it safe right? It's not lying around under your bed is it?
Goku: Um.. Of course not Grandma. It's in the sock drawer.
Pan: Oh Goku, you should treat that ball with a little more respect. The first thing you're going to do when you get home is to take that ball and clean it! Then put it somewhere nice... Like on the shelf or on the window sill.
Goku: Awww... Grandma, ok...
Pan: Anyways, let's head...
Pan starts to look up at the sky and a worried expression appears on her face. Suddenly, five objects punches through clouds... The holes allow the light to come through while the objects smashes into the ground near by...
Goku: What... What was that?
Pan: Goku, stay back.
As Pan approaches the smoking craters, Goku follows close behind... The clouds gather again covering the light once more, and now small raindrops begin to fall...
Goku: Grandma?
Pan: Goku, stay back!
Pan peers into one of the large craters and finds a spherical ship embedded in the centre several meters away... With a hiss, it begins to open, as are the others...
Pan: Goku, move back!
The pods open and little green men jump out from within them... Short little green aliens with claws at the end of their three fingers... They wear no clothes and their limbs are more like an insect's exoskelaton... Their heads are oddly shaped as if their brains are bulging out... They hiss and snarl, and stares at the pair with psychotic red eyes...
Goku: What are they? More Nameks?
Pan: No. I don't know what they are, but they seem familiar...
With a screech the 5 aliens jump at Pan and Goku, and one of them tackles Goku, while Pan dodges the ones coming at her...
Pan: Goku! Damnit!
Goku: Grandma!
Pan: Goku!
A piercing pain rips through Pan's heart... She clutches her chest and goes down on one knee...
Pan: No... Not yet.
A distance away, one of the aliens is pummelling Goku into the ground. The back of the alien's hands strike Goku several times before he tries to drive a handful of claws straight into Goku's face.
Goku: Grandma!
Goku starts yelling as his eyes turn green and hair gold... Goku goes Super Saiyan, and the resulting powerup blows the alien off, and it lands in the bushes.
Pan: Goku...
Pan forces herself up and starts aiming her hand at the aliens... Then fires a yellow blast vapourizing three of them. One of them backs off, and heads towards Goku, but Pan disappears and reappears between them, and fires another blast to vapourize it. The final one comes out of the bushes and fires a green blast from its mouth towards them... Pan easily stops it with one hand and fires one back vapourizing it.
Goku: Energy blasts... That was cool Grandma! I wish I could do that!
Goku powers down back to normal.
Pan: You can... learn...
Pan collapses onto the ground.
Goku: Grandma? Grandma!
Goku goes to her side.
Pan: I'm sorry Goku... I have to leave you now...
Goku: No, Grandma! Don't, don't die!
Goku starts crying, as the raindrops turn into a downpour...
Pan: Be strong Goku...
A look of pain appears on Pan's face then subsides... She begins to look content...
Goku: Grandma?
Pan: Goku...
She stares up into the sky as her eyes begin to slowly close...
Pan: Grandpa?
Goku: Grandpa? Grandpa Goku?
Pan: You want me to... I understand...
Goku: Grandma? What are you talking about? I don't understand...
Grandpa Goku? Four star ball. The four star ball right? I have to use that.
Pan: Goku... Remember... Have courage....
Pan eyes close, and her body starts to fade away...
Goku: Grandma? Grandma!
Goku yells as he cries...
Goku: I'll go get the Dragon Ball. I'll go get the four star ball and you can come back! I promise!
