MAKING THE WORD YOUR OWN

28 days to re-discovery

Spend just 20 minutes a day (about 2% of your daily 14 waking hours) in God's Word for the next 28 days. The time spent in continual, quality time in Scripture is the key to rekindling your love for God's Word.

This could mean reading a chapter each morning before you go to work, or making Scripture a regular part of your lunch break. It may be relishing the silence after the children have gone to bed to hear God's still, quiet voice speaking through the Old Testament, a Gospel, or a letter of Paul's.

As you read the daily passage, keep these points in mind:

  1. Pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to be your teacher.

  2. Look. What's going on in the passage? Summarize it in your own words.

  3. Learn. What's God saying to me through these words?

  4. Live. How can I live differently today as a result of God's Word living in me? What am I going to feel, think, and believe because of this passage?
