MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO ACHIEVE
Everything worth accomplishing in life requires strength and a
conviction to work at it. It comes from knowing who you are and
having a peace about it. From successful dieting to career
changes, from dealing with low self-esteem to improving your
relationships, making changes is difficult yet rewarding.
Getting the strength and conviction is one thing; holding to it
is another. Most of us can begin well in making changes, but
somewhere down the line we get tired, we let down our guard, and
before we know it, we have slipped back into the old patterns.
The people who succeed at anything in life are those who decided
beforehand to never give up.
Tips for keeping strength and conviction working in your life:
- Know what you want to achieve. Have a strong image, a big
goal, and the desire to achieve it.
- Make up your mind that you can succeed. Forget the past and
its problems or failures. Nothing has to hold you back.
- Accept the responsibility for your own life. Don't make
excuses. Hold yourself accountable for your thoughts,
emotions, and actions.
- Determine that you will not quit no matter what happens.
Believe in your dream and in your ability to accomplish it.
- Keep your plan before you. Write down your goals in detail.
Make an image book with pictures and review it often.
- Take one day at a time. Start where you are and work at
changing slowly but consistently.
- Say what you want out of life, not what you don't want. Say
that you can succeed and you can achieve.
- Surround yourself with supportive people who aren't
intimidated by your desire for success.
- Avoid drudgery, boredom, frustration, hopelessness, and other
things that hold people back from going in the right
direction. Make achieving your goals challenging and fun.
- You will have many victories, but you will also have battles.
Hold on to what you have gained. Keep pressing forward and
you will achieve in life what you have determined to do and
be.
