The first crit would be to provide information on the philosophy and teachings of the Buddha, how the Chinese temples evolved hopefully to rethink back the building typology in connection to the philosophy.
The next step would be to study the present condition and the reality of the temple in terms of it's functions, funding, issues concerning to the temple to serves the needs of tomorrow. Further findings such as how the temple could change and why people go to temple though few. Maybe it could change it's role in the future.
The other things that has been bothering me would be, can Buddhism philosophy that i have studied be converted into a 'mystique' in architecture? For example, Ken Yeang's so called sustainable derived from the 70s of the oil crisis that desperately needed energy replacement material or save energy in buildings. What Ken Yeang did from the situation was just simply design buildings that save energy and other substances such as water and called it green buildings.
First option, will be to continue doing the temple only to explore in the temple typology for future needs as well as to solve the other issues of Chinese mysticism in the temples. Option no.1 approach according to issue given
Secondly is if I was to come to a conclusion of creating a statement out of Buddhism thoughts to architecture, (somehow if I manage to lar) it wouldn't be a temple maybe other building type related using that statement and also using the same issue Option no 2. different approach but from the philosophical statement
Maybe combination of both still a temple, same issue but approach from philosophy. option 3
So greatly need feedbacks. Preferably in tanggam.com or my email. thanx in advance. And of course case studies too of how philosophy change contemporary temple like Tadao Ando, Le corb and FLLW.
