Problem Statement

The project is a Chinese Buddhist Temple where religious, community and education of Buddhism will take place. The theme of the temple will be based on Buddha’s teaching and His philosophies dealing with current issues of Malaysian Chinese a mere believer and not practicing the faith. 

The temple will also focus less on traditional approach of most Buddhist temples in SEA but should portrays the essence of Buddhism and realize the meaning of Chinese influence and it’s interpretations in Buddhism. Having understand the meaning of Buddha’s teaching, The temple should also act as a place for community building and as a center of Buddhism cultivation. The idea is a question of how Buddhist temple should serve the future society?

Scope of work of the project might include

Studies of :
1.Buddhism- What is Buddhism? And what is Buddha’s teachings.
2. Study of what is the Buddhism temple. –It’s meaning in relation to the philosophy of the teachings. The function of a temple.
3. The cosmology of Buddhism to make a religion.
4. The study of Chinese temple. –It’s influence in China and meaning to the real teaching.
5. The study the different organization of Buddhism. Different organization takes different path towards the Buddhist teaching and hence affects the meaning of architecture.
6. The studies of the present temple. How does it serves the needs or maybe for the future?
7. How does the philosophy fit into the temple? What are the relevance of the Chinese Buddhist temple into the Buddhism teachings? What does it serves? Does we need to change in the temple building? How?

This are just preliminaries and more will be added to justification of the thesis.
