DVR Note : Thats all I'm gonna have for now, you can try emailing me for other songs if you really want. Im sorta deciding whether or not to put more because of the whole Napster-driven "free music" debates out there, and hell, theres the lawsuits too!
This Is What Darling Violetta has to say about the Napster issue :
"Regarding the whole Napster/MP3 issue, take a moment to think it through. We'll help. Free music is a wonderful concept. It's a beautiful notion. What a fine fine world it would be if all music everywhere was free for everyone & anyone. What would be finer is if the rehearsal studios we wrote the music in were free. If the recording studios we made the music in were free. If the manufacturing of the CD's & artwork were free. If our instruments & their maintenance & upgrades were free. If our rent, food, gas, electricity, & general overhead were all free, every last single thing. If musicians, engineers, producers, & studio owners had no expenses whatsoever, then free music makes perfect sense & a happy happy world it would be."
"However, since none of the above is true, it boils down to this: if you take music without contributing to the livelihood of its creators, not to mention helping pay the bills for its creation, who's footing the bill for more music? How are musicians to make a living if their so-called "fans" expect to not have to pay for it? It's not comparable to bootlegs, where at least you knew the people buying the bootlegs were buying every official release too, & were true fans."
"This is simply theft. There is no justification & no excuse. Anyone expecting to get something for nothing should have the balls to walk in to Tower Records & rip off a CD from a shelf, & college students (& everyone else) should know better. When they grow up & get jobs they won't want to work for free either."
"Economics 101, people. Download the MP3's, & if you like them, buy the record. Urge your friends to do the same. That way you've done your part to ensure more music follows, & more free music too, instead of every musician being denied a chance to make a living at it, giving up & going to work at gas stations."
"Or better yet, going postal in college dorms."
