Questionnaires
Gather
information from different Governmental Departments including that of
Agriculture and Fishing, Environmental and also from the Planning Authority
about fish farming in Malta.
On
a Map of Malta, indicate the areas presently used for fish farming. You can also indicate sites that can be developed for
fish farming. (Remember to
clearly distinguish between these two!)
B) The management of a
fish farm
Choose
one particular fish farm as a case study.
Go on site well prepared with a set of questions and conduct your interviews to one of the personnel. These questions might help you:
What is a fish farm?
Where is the fish farm found?
How big is it?
How many fish do they produce a year?
What type of fish do they grow on that farm?
What are the processes involved in managing a fish farm?
What are the main problems associated with fish farm managing?
Are the fish sold locally or are they exported? If they are exported name the countries to which they are sold
Write a report on your research. Include your map and the main points of the interview.
Always fix an appointment before going to any fish farm.
Ask only relevant questions. Try
to avoid hot, political issues.
Be ethical and do not insist on having answers if the
interviewee’ is not ready to answer.
Be systematic when presenting your work. Dividing the process involved in fish farming into sections could be a good idea!
Recommendations:
If
you want to take your own pictures, choose a fish farm that can be seen from a
good high altitude spot.
Make
sure you do not throw anything in the water not even food.
