Marine action is one of the most effective agents which has fashioned the Maltese coastline.”  

(i) Name two completely different stretches of the Maltese coastline which are the result of marine action.

(ii) Name the different features which one may be able to observe in each of the two types of coastline.

(iii) Describe, and explain, the forces which brought about the two types of coastline you mentioned.

Select one of these forces and answer the following questions, illustrating whenever possible by relevant diagrams.  

a)  State the reason for your particular choice

b)  Describe in detail the process of land-surface change as a result of the action of the force you selected.                                   

(10 marks)

c)  Explain some of the effects of the change you mentioned in (b), on man.
