Week Five:
Continuing the show tonight is Kyle S singing "I Could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain:   Nick: Kyle, I thought that was fairly well done! I noticed you got a new and improved mic! Becareful not to sing to close to it, to eliminate the scratches and bangs. You sounded really good though! Keep up the consistent improvement, you are doing marevelous!
Stacy: Hey this was sooo much better!!!!!! Much better breathe support much better with holding out your notes! I heard so much more control out of you this week I will say however your recording was terrible.. you need to work on that a bit if you need help, ask one of the fellow contestants or me for help. I’m sure they would be glad to help.
Also, there were a few parts with very minor pitchy parts but not bad at all. On the chorus, you weren’t hitting the right notes you weren’t off pitch but you were an octive too low, that’s all and that’s maybe because you didn’t know the song well enough.
I think you did very well! I am overall pretty happy with this. Just work on your recording. J
Anthony: Kyle...you've got a nice sound and I like the song...but i felt you could have done something more to it to make it interesting and ultimately make it your own. You have a great sound but I think it needs to be developed and you can do that by taking vocal lessons. Overall it was good. Goobmeter: 6.5 out of 10.

Next up is Nicole, singing "Can't Fight The Moonlight" by LeeAnn Rhymes:   Nick: Nicole, I am so proud of you! You rock girl! If you keep improving at the rate you have been, you are gonna rocket through the roof! Keep doing what you're doing, it's working! Stay confident and let it all out, cause I know you know you have it in you!
Stacy: HOLY IMPROVEMENT!!! OH MY!!!!! I am sooooo impressed with you.. you make me want to cry because I feel like you have broken out of your cocoon and now a beautiful butterfly!
You are BACK in this competition! I think your voice sounds soo much more impressive and mature coming from your chest! SO much more then your head voice!! And as you get older, your voice is going to ROCK! Watch your breathing I don’t think anyone has ever taught you the proper breathing techniques but let me see if I can just sum it up in a quick lesson LOL
DON’T take your breaths into your lungs (don’t raise your chest) learn to take the breath into your tummy area (or diaphragm) your shoulders should never raise up when taking a breath and when you take that breath, try taking it in through your nose and as you are breathing it in, breath it in as if you are smelling your favourite smell. And you know how when you smell your favourite smell, you open up all your passages because it is a great feeling to smell something so wonderful? Well that’s what you want to happen when you take your breath to sing! I know this is all easier said then done.
Once you have that breath, as you sing, you will push the breathe back out by tightening your abdominal area gradually as you are singing so this way, you are slowly tightening and letting out the air for your notes being sang.
Practice breathing like that because it does make a difference but it may take a while to get it right and to be able to apply it to your singing however, it is good to start practicing it now so that as you get older, you will be doing it properly!
If you are confused by what I just said(because im sure I didn’t explain it to well), email me, or contact me on AIM poodlehugs@aol.com or IM handle: poodlehugs
I will be glad to help you further
But I think you just raised the bar in this competition and I feel now you ARE competition! Keep practicing and developing that chest voice because just as I had predicted it would be its AWESOME! Most improved this week, are you and Heather! Congrats! Sorry for the book!
Anthony: I really liked the song but i felt your voice wasnt suited for this type of song. I'm not sure what kind of training you've had in the past but to me it seems like you're a young child trying to sing a grown up song. One thing i DID like, however, was your support and the fact that you were pretty much on pitch the whole song. You could have made it more your own and had it so that you stood out from the crowd. Goobmeter: 5 out of 10.
Do you want Nicole to advance? Wait till the end to vote!
