FAQs

1. How does coaching differ from counselling or therapy?
Therapy tends to focus mainly on healing the past while coaching is based in the present and future. Therapy looks at where your life may be dysfunctional and coaching presumes that you are healthy and whole. The coaching process is aimed at moving you forward to take action and create the life you want.

2. Why hire a coach?
If you have been unsuccessful in moving forward on your own or with the assistance of self-help books you may need more. A life coach is a motivating partner in your quest for a more fulfilling life. Those individuals who have experienced coaching agree that it is a powerful process that truly helps people get more of what they want out of life.

3. Do you coach in person or over the telephone?
I coach both in person and by telephone. I enjoy having the Discovery Session face to face when possible to get to know you but subsequent sessions may take place by telephone. The benefits of telephone coaching are that I can coach individuals not in my geographic area, there is no traffic or parking concerns and your privacy is guaranteed. Some women prefer phone coaching to maximize their time and avoid the need for child-care.

4. How often do you speak with your coach?
Coaching partnerships vary according to my clients’ needs and the coaching plan that they select. The standard package for most clients is a three-month coaching commitment that includes weekly 30-40 minute sessions. Others prefer 40-45 minute sessions three times per month. The goal is to receive a minimum of two hours of coaching per month.

5. How much will this cost?
My coaching fees range, depending on the coaching plan designed by the client and myself. A three-month commitment to the coaching process is required to achieve maximum benefit. Once this has expired, together we can review your progress and create the perfect plan to help you reach your goals. Groups of three or four individuals with similar interests may also benefit from group coaching. Contact me for more details!

6. What if I have a question between sessions?
I am open to receive calls from clients who have a specific question. I prefer that the calls not exceed ten minutes. This service is free of charge, as is e-mail communication.

7. Do I get notes or a summary from our sessions?
No. However, I do, as a service to my clients, send out an e-mail following our call or session. I refer to this as “Helping Hands”.

8. How do I get started?
Contact me by telephone or e-mail and we will set up your Discovery Session and design your coaching plan. Don’t wait to have the life you want.
