Itīs the third time Portugal plays the final phase of a WC. The first time was in 1966 in England where we achieved a 3rd place, losing only to England that would be world champion.

The second time was in mexico 1986, but we didnīt made it to phase 2. We met England again and we won 1-0, but then lost to Poland 1-0 and to Morocco 3-1. On this world cup, our players, decided to go on strike ! can you believe it ? because...they didnīt get paid !

Now itīs the third time. Letīs see what we can do. I personally, donīt think that Portugal is going to do as well as we did in Euro 2000, because, most teams now, already know what our "stars" can do. Players like Figo, or Rui Costa will be watched closely from our opponents.
